Children may participate in a wide range of activities during lunchtime and after school, or merely choose to do their homework!
Activities include art, drama, additional languages, IT and chess. In addition, our newly formed Film Buffs Club introduces our children to the art of movie making, and appreciation of acting and direction. Our recently installed playhouse and garden where our children grow their own fruit, flowers and vegetables ensures that our Gardening Club is a popular choice!
In addition, children are given the opportunity to care for a wide range of animals whether it be cats, guinea pigs or fish. Children are appointed as Guinea pig and Cat monitors and have great fun taking full responsibility for their care. Our younger children also have the opportunity to pet and hold our animals and feed our fish. We believe that treating animals with kindness and respect is an important philosophy and engenders a positive attitude for life. It can also play an important role in instilling confidence in children, and deals with the subjects of birth, life and death in a sensitive way.
Our annual Christmas pantomime, written by the Headmistress, involves every child in the school and is always a memorable occasion for both pupils and parents!
Music forms an important part of our school curriculum and children are encouraged to take part in the school choir and music classes. Piano lessons are also available at an additional cost of £6:00 per half hour.
Our Senior class has an annual, and much anticipated trip to Parson House, an outdoor pursuits centre in Derbyshire. There, they may experience exhilarating activities such as abseiling, potholing and rock-climbing. The course also develops independence and self-esteem, along with team building and problem solving skills.
Whatever your child chooses to do, we will ensure that they are both spending their time productively and enjoying themselves!
