Sycamore Hall uses traditional teaching methods, with the emphasis on Reading , English and Maths, along side a stimulating and varied curriculum including History, Geography, Science, French, Verbal Reasoning, Art and Technology, ICT, Music and Domestic Science. Our Senior class also covers Current Affairs.
Our classes are supported by field trips and excursions to theatres, art galleries and museums on a regular basis, and ‘hands-on' experiences are encouraged

The school has an excellent academic record with most pupils reaching the standard required to gain a place at various senior Independent and Grammar schools. Regular academic scholarships have been awarded to pupils over the years to a wide variety of schools.

Sport
Everyone is encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities whatever their ability, and the school makes good use of a local games field and swimming baths.
All children have a Games/P.E. lesson and a swimming lesson on a weekly basis, with our Annual Sports Day and Swimming Gala both entertaining highlights of the year!
A particularly unusual feature of our school is its Traditional Maypole and Country Dancing. Our May Day celebrations are renowned!
